ZANAMO Car Rental Terms & Conditions

All rentals are arranged by phone with ZANAMO. Online booking is not available. A booking is only confirmed once ZANAMO has verified availability, agreed the rental period and received the security deposit.

The Customer must hold a valid driving licence recognised in Malaysia, be at least 23 years of age (subject to vehicle class), and provide valid identification. ZANAMO may refuse a rental at its discretion.

The rental period begins at the time confirmed by ZANAMO and ends when the vehicle is returned. The vehicle must be returned on the agreed date and time. Early return does not entitle the Customer to a refund unless agreed in writing.

A refundable security deposit is required based on the vehicle. The deposit is held during the rental and refunded upon return of the vehicle in the agreed condition, subject to deductions for damage, fuel, tolls, summonses or cleaning where applicable.

The Customer acknowledges the vehicle condition at the start of the rental via the vehicle inspection record. The vehicle must be returned in the same condition, fair wear and tear excepted.

In the event of an accident or damage, the Customer must immediately notify ZANAMO, remain at the scene where required by law, and not admit liability. An official police report must be lodged where required.

The Customer is responsible for all traffic summonses, tolls and parking fees incurred during the rental period. ZANAMO may deduct these from the security deposit or invoice the Customer.

The vehicle is delivered with a stated fuel level and must be returned with the same fuel level. Otherwise, ZANAMO will refuel and charge the Customer at the prevailing rate plus a service fee.

The vehicle must not be used for racing, illegal activities, driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, off-road use (unless an appropriate vehicle is rented), or sub-letting. Use contrary to law voids cover.

Smoking is strictly prohibited inside the vehicle. A cleaning fee will be charged where the vehicle is returned with odours, stains or debris requiring specialist cleaning.

Pets are not permitted unless expressly agreed by ZANAMO. A cleaning fee may apply where pets are transported without agreement.

Cancellations made prior to the rental commencement may be eligible for a refund of the deposit less any administrative fee, at ZANAMO's discretion. No refund is given for early return unless otherwise agreed.

In the event of a breakdown or mechanical issue not caused by the Customer, contact ZANAMO immediately. ZANAMO will arrange assistance or a replacement vehicle where appropriate.

ZANAMO is not responsible for personal belongings left in the vehicle. The Customer is encouraged to remove all items upon return.

Vehicles may be fitted with tracking and security devices. Tampering with these devices is strictly prohibited and may result in additional charges.

Any extension of the rental period must be agreed with ZANAMO in advance. Unauthorised retention beyond the agreed return time may incur late return fees.

The vehicle must be returned to the agreed location at the agreed time. ZANAMO will inspect the vehicle upon return.

Unauthorized retention, misuse or failure to return the vehicle may result in legal action and reporting to the relevant authorities.

The Customer's information is collected and processed for the purposes of rental management and legal compliance, in accordance with applicable data protection laws.

ZANAMO reserves the right to update these terms. The applicable version is the one in force at the time of the rental.

These terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Malaysia.

By proceeding with the rental, the Customer acknowledges that they have read, understood and agreed to these terms and conditions.
